Rooster Valley’s German Shorthaired Pointers
For more than 20 years Rooster Valley has been using the German Shorthaired Pointer. German shorthairs were originally bred in Germany to be a hunting dog that can do it all. At the time it was common for hunters to own many dogs for many purposes. The early Shorthair breeders believed that one dog could do many tasks and still be a great family dog. Over time the GSP has become one of the most popular pheasant hunting dogs. German shorthairs are superb hunters with a strong bird desire and a natural retrieving instinct. Their easy going nature and desire to please make them an important part of Rooster Valley’s pheasant hunting experience.
Rooster Valley’s German shorthairs come from champion hunting lines. Each year we selectively breed our best male with our best females to produce one or two litters of fine foot hunting dogs. You can see the offspring on our puppies for sale page.
